There are times that removable appliances need to be done but clinically speaking, the best option for replacing teeth is dental implants.  When teeth are extracted, the bone left behind will thin out and continue to resorb over time.  Since partials and dentures simply cover up these spaces, they do nothing to stabilize the bone underneath.  The most common complaint we get about these alternatives is sore spots, and appliances that move around, causing problems with chewing and speaking.  The short term solution is adjustments and relining.  A better permanent fix is an appliance that is held in place by dental implants.  They look and feel like real teeth and can last a lifetime without the worry of getting loose or breaking.

Combined with the computerized implant planning software and surgical guides, we are able to create custom dental implants and restorations with incredible precision. We also use lasers from time to time to assist with faster healing times and less discomfort.

Dr. Dostal is a Kansas native. He attended the University of Kansas where he studied chemistry and then he completed his Doctorate at the University of Missouri. After working in Denver, Colorado an associate with many other colleagues and specialists, he then decided to make Kansas City his permanent home. Dr. Dostal routinely attends continuing education courses because he strongly believe that the latest technology and techniques will give his patients the best possible outcomes.
